Thank you Barbra.
This will really help me. Especially not giving ground to a fast cow, keeping the pressure on your line to make it turn away. Thank you! π

Love your explanations – have always been an English rider, and you make learning the “lingo” easy. Thanks for all you do, and please keep doing it. π dc

Helpful tips! slowing down video & pausing to elaborate, was very helpful.
The tip about a pushy cow, wanting to dive into corner; recommendation to trying to hold your ground, also valuable. Thank you

This was so interesting!!! I really have never heard of needing to “hold the line” but it makes total sense. Also, Wow, what a horse/rider team!!!! Awesome to see those amazing positions the horse was in with his body at times!!! Thank you!

The turn away from the rider on the black cow seemed very quick fir the quit. So is it that if the tail faces you you can quit regardless if the cow turns back to you?
Hi Donna. You can quit when the cow is completely stopped in any position or is moving angled away. You cannot legally quit when a cow is moving toward you.

Great Information, The horse is making two part turn arounds (Two 90* heading changes that are fluid and connected) starting with the horses cow side shoulder being elevated, but counter balanced by the riders weight being outside of center-line, thus loading the horses herd side hind leg, and promoting base wide. That VS: Cow Side Hind Foot Turn Around, which requires time and encroaches on the working line, and does NOT draw, nor break the cow down. Normally a cow can be broken down within 8 trips across the pen. With that rule of thumb, the turn back help knows… Read more »
